My Kitchen

The kitchen cabinets were oak stained. I do not like that look so I painted them and then distressed the edges by sanding down to the wood tone.

My husband put up the open shelves for me. I did not want to put my dishes behind closed doors. I like looking at them!

My son gave me the Blue Willow tea set for Mother's day a few years back. I think that is when I decided I love blue dishes!

This teapot is called Memory Lane from Royal Albert. It is a beautiful teapot with dainty blue forget-me-nots flowers painted on it.

The purple cow was given to my by a neighbor about 50 years ago! I had always admired it when I was a little girl, so she gave it to me. The cow was already missing part of her horn and had some repairs from previous breaks. I'm not sure what was attached to the sides of the cow, maybe salt and pepper shakers. Anyway I still think she is cute and whimsical. The bunny was a gift from a friend from our church in Osawatomie, Kansas.
